Ernest Rutherford

Ernest Rutherford (1871-1937) was a New Zealand-born physicist who studied atomic cooperating with JJ Thomson at the University of Cambridge.
Rutherford successfully caught the nucleus of in an atom. With support from the Frederick Soddy, he argued that the radioactivity derived from the disintegration of atoms. He was the first person to successfully make atomic disntegration in the laboratory.
For his research on various types of radiation, he was named as a Nobel laureate in Chemistry in 1908.
