Gold Prices Slope Down

Having touched US$ 1000, gold prices in the international market begin to slope, although it's still close to the 1000 level.

In trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Wednesday (9 / 9) local time, the latest shipment of gold contracts closed down at 995.30 U.S. dollars per troy ounce, compared to Tuesday closing at 997.90 U.S. dollar positions.

It is also common in Hong Kong trading Thursday morning. As reported by AFP, gold prices were opened lower to a position opened 992,30-993,30 U.S. dollars per ounce, down from Wednesday closing at U.S. $ 998,70-999,70.

OPEC: Maintain Oil Production Unchanged

Oil producing countries,OPEC, have reached a consensus to maintain crude oil production unchanged, Kuwait oil minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah al-Sabah said on Wednesday (9 / 9) night, ahead of a cartel meeting.

There is a consensus to maintain stable production, as widely expected by the ministers of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), said Sheikh Ahmad told reporters.

OPEC, whose 12 members are pumping 40 per cent of the world's oil, agreed at the end of 2008 to remove 4.2 million barrels per day of oil production in the market.

Oil Price Stable at Around US$ 71

The price of crude oil in the world's major markets continues to strengthen along with the weakening of the dollar United States (U.S.). In addition, along with the continued rally in the stock market, oil market participants are optimistic that the global economic recovery begins to be effective.

In a transaction in NYMEX exchange , New York, Wednesday afternoon local time (Thursday morning GMT), the price of light sweet crude for October contract rose 21 cents to the position of U.S. $ 71.31 per barrel. On the London ICE exchange, the price of Brent oil for October contract rose 41 cents to as low as U.S. $ 69.83 per barrel.

Japan PM's Wife and Aliens

The elected Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama may be called "Alien". Since, his wife, Miyuki Hatoyama, claimed to have been brought by aliens to the planet of Venus.

"When I'm asleep, I think my soul is going into the triangular UFO and going to Venus," said Miyuki Hatoyama in his book.

"It's a very beautiful place and really green," he said as quoted by Reuters on Wednesday (2/9/2009).

The 66-year-old wife wrote her experience in space in a book titled "Very Strange Things I've Encountered."

When she was experiencing that, Miyuki was not the wife of Hatoyama yet. Hatoyama, however advised that it was just an illusion. The answer is different from what she expected.

"My husband has a different view," said a woman who is the grandson of the former PM.

Hatoyama himself will be sworn as Japan's new PM on September 16 following the victory of the party ruling for 50 years, the Liberal Democratic Party, in general elections, Sunday, August 30.

China Will Buy IMF's Bonds

China will buy bonds issued by Internasinal Monetary Fund (IMF) worth US$ 50 billion, to increase the agency funding sources. The agreement that began in June was completed on Wednesday Washington time yesterday.

Quoted by Reuters on Thursday (3/9/2009), the agreement was signed by IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Deputy Governor of People's Bank of China Yi Gang.

These measures are part of the agreement under G-20 in April in London to pump IMF funding sources for US$ 500 billion. The funds will be intended to help IMF support countries hit by the global financial crisis.
