U.S. forces killed one of the Islamic warriors of the most hunted in Africa, in a raid in the south of Somalia, local time Monday.
The hunt has been done by U.S. troops to block the spread of Al Qaeda's influence in the region. It is quoted from the New York Times, Tuesday (15/9/2009).
Western intelligence agencies say, the fighter that has been killed, Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, is a leader in the circle of al-Qaeda cell in Kenya, responsible for the bombing of an Israeli hotel in Kenya's coastal region in 2002. Nabhan is also accused of having a role in the attack two U.S. embassies in East Africa in 1998.
